LOUIS VUITTON ZEBRA

The 2011 Spring windows of the Louis Vuitton Champs Elysees Maison store in Paris were designed around the brands use of zebra prints in its Spring/Summer collections.

Asylum was commissioned to produce a herd of zebras in various poses, from playful lying zebras to a rearing Stallion.

Initially modelled on computer, the body parts were milled out of dense foam and pieced together in a variety of poses. The zebras were then flocked and beautifully art worked, and finished with hand-punched hair to the faces, ears and manes.

Due to space constraints, the zebras needed to break down into three separate pieces in order to access the windows. The three pieces were then put together inside the window space, and the join disguised with a Louis Vuitton leather harness that we designed and produced.

This scheme has also been exhibited in New Bond Street London.
